Cemetery Staff.

As a working cemetery, Oak Hill maintains a year-round staff of four to manage and care for both grounds and graves at the 21-acre site.

Since acquiring what was then a 127-year-old cemetery in 2012,  North Township has gone to work, replacing missing gravestones, matching burial plots with the deceased buried there, organizing records for families searching for loved ones and beginning overdue work to clean and maintain the grounds.

After changing hands several times — the last as a lost ante in a poker game — Oak Hill Cemetery is now in the loving hands of the North Township Trustee. By law, the township is not able to expend taxpayer dollars on cemetery upkeep and is reliant on the generosity of others to help maintain the graves and grounds.
